Movie Party! Greaser's Palace (1972)

Robert Downey Jr. is world famous. Not so much his filmmaker father, the late Robert Downey Sr. He was a rebel artist at a pivotal time in Hollywood, semi-famous for such underground hits as POUND and PUTNEY SWOPE. Alas, he never fulfilled his potential, falling victim to the many excesses available in Hollywood in the early 70s. His 1972 offering, Greaser's Palace, is certainly his last flame. An unorthodox Jesus story set in the old west, it is alternately very funny and very violent, often with one closely following the other. It stars Allan Arbus, husband of famous photographer Diane Arbus, and familiar to TV watchers as the psychiatrist who would occasionally visit the 4077 in the television version of M*A*S*H. This film is little seen and quite unique!
